A pregnant woman gives an impolite man a lesson he won’t soon forget.

A pregnant woman unexpectedly answers to a disrespectful man knocking on her, teaching him a lesson without getting angry or seeking retribution.

There I was with my expectant wife, Karol, in a seemingly never-ending shopping queue. She carried our cart with composure, not really troubled by the delay. Suddenly, she was aggressively knocked into by a man who almost toppled her and our items.

Immediately, my rage increased. Although I was prepared to face him, Karol had other ideas.

My mother used to always remark, “What happens, happens,” while I was growing up. In spite of this, I was never one to throw things away; I thought that confronting issues head-on was preferable to waiting for retribution. However, Karol’s presence made it clear to me that, occasionally, the universe handles matters on its own schedule.

The man apologized a little, but Karol only gave him a cheeky smile. She reached inside her purse and took out a tomato, of all things.

She threw the tomato at him with accuracy in one quick move. Juice dripped down his shirt and left a big red stain where it fell firmly on his chest.

Karol, in the meantime, resumed stacking our items as if nothing had happened. She exuded extreme self-satisfaction.

I was impressed with Karol’s distinct style as we left the store and the scene behind. Justice, to her, was about putting things right, not about getting even.

Walking hand in hand, I came to see that addressing wrongs with fury isn’t the best course of action. Sometimes it comes down to having faith in the universe and understanding that even the tiniest actions—like Karol’s tomato toss—can bring about positive change.
